Wedding Day Pictures!

I have had the most perfect weekend. I witnessed my twin sister marrying her true soul mate. As a couple, they are amazing. I watched them at the weekend and realised how much of an inspiration they are to me. They fit perfectly and just read each other so easily.

The day started early, and as chief bridesmaid and twin we shared a room the night before. I would like to say I helped keep the bride calm but in fact I was more stressed than she was. I had barely slept and worried about things being perfect. We had breakfast in bed and just tried to relax. I then spent some time setting up the extra touches to the room in the venue (sweets, photos of family weddings and time capsule). Then it was straight into hair. As the morning passed, with a background playlist including Jack Johnson, we chatted, had a visit from the best man with a special memory book for the Bride and excitement.

As time came to get dressed, the Bride's nerves were setting in and she began shaking. Luckily she had two very competent bridesmaids to get her dressed. The dress was stunning and she just looked beautiful. After the walk down the aisle and the exchanging of vows, the day went in a blur. Everyone had fun and danced the night away. To say it went without a hitch it an understatement! Everything was just absolutely perfect!

Don't you just love the gown and bridesmaid dresses?

This doesn't look right...

I didn't feel like going home to do work straight after school today so I popped to the shops to try and find a dress. I am going to the races for my birthday in a couple of weeks and it's ladies day and therefore everyone gets dressed up. I love to get all dolled up but have had no time to go proper shopping as of late. So I took my opportunity. Unfortunately, I realised that I had managed to pick up the dresses which not only looked rubbish on but also seemed to have a roman toga theme. Maybe this is just me, as Miss Faux Fur says, "You see things which no-one else sees." This is after I have taken back boots because I felt like Santa Clause when I wore them with my red coat and choose not to wear a specific top and jacket combo as I claimed I looked like a cave girl.

Anyway, I don't usually take pictures in fitting rooms but thought I'd share the dresses so you can see how off kilter with fashion I was today...the shame!!

Dress 1: It was too big, too toga like and too yellow.
Dress 2: Too roman goddess esque and too light.

Dress 3: I have been eyeing this dress up for a while (not in the white obviously- far too pale for that) and so tried it on for the style. I love the front style all ruched and fitted, also the contrast zip is pretty cool however it's still a bit too big. I think I will have to try the internet for a smaller size and the colour I wanted. Chances of being lucky? Not that high.

Maybe on other people they would look stunning but they just didn't suit me one bit. Back to the drawing board.

Don't you hate it when you have exactly what you want in your mind but just can't get it?

Intense..

That was the most common word out of me and my friends mouths after going to see Black Swan this evening. If you haven't seen it then I would recommend it, Natalie Portman is just amazing!!I can well understand the plaudits she is getting for the role. I actually thought the film was quite dark so if you're expecting to see some light and pretty ballet film then think again. I actually thought the whole film was stunning regardless of it's edge. I tell you what, it makes my ballet lessons look oh so tame...thankfully!!

Apart from that fun, I spent some time hunting for a dress. Not just any dress, THE dress which I will be wearing at a NYC Fashion Week Couture show!! Yes- I have a ticket for a fashion show when I visit in a couple of weeks. I am so excited yet having a fashion panic!? What does one wear to such an event?!  Effortless chic is the only guidance it gives.....argh!! Unfortunately my Peacock/Lynx dress wont be ready in time so the British High Street was the next best option! I did manage to find a pretty dress which looks quite dressy and chic. I love one shouldered dresses and this has the most amazing ruffle shoulder thing going on!!

What do you think? I'm sure I will post a picture at some point with accessories if I decide on this!! I mean there is the question of bag, shoes and jewellery to think of!PANIC!Although it looks inky blue in the photo, it's more teal green.

Good enough for fashion week?!

I will have a look around as my other idea was some waist shorts and a nice over sized blouse, slightly more trendy but less glam. Oh the perils of fashion!! Fashion week is NOT the place to make a fashion faux par!

Just to finish tonight, I thought I'd share a picture of my mega hot chocolate today... it was quiet spectacular and oh so yummy!

What a sugar rush!!Mmmmmm.......

Such a girly day therefore my post today has been very girly too!! Just a bit of an insight into my world which I hope you have enjoyed. It's definitely what I needed as my headache (after the 5th day) has now eased...WOOO!!! Shopping really is the answer to everything!

Hope you have all enjoyed your Saturday and enjoyed my slightly more girly post than usual :-)
