It's the little things...

Sometimes, it's the little things which matter. I've been rushing around so much the last month and still haven't managed to catch my tail. However, one of my kids made me smile today... she came in and gave me a little present.

Cute or what?!

There is nothing nicer than a homemade gift from kids. It really shows that they respect and like you as they have taken time out of their own night to make something for you. For some this may just look like a little laminated card but to me it made me smile and gave me that extra boost when I feel like giving up. I am so lucky that in my job you can be having the worst day ever then a child says something funny or is thoughtful and makes you just smile :-)

That is nice. My daughter likes to make little cards for people...I must remember to give them out!

Hope your day is a little brighter!

Cheers

Awww I love this! I taught dance for 5 years and preschool for 1 - it's so touching when the little ones think of you, it makes the job totally worth it :)

Pre-school must've been cute! I've taught Grde 1 and they were amazing! Also, so funny! Yep- it definitly makes the job worth it. The day their anecdotes don't make me laugh is the day I change career.

Argh! My comment got deleted accidentally, but I tried to say that whenever my nieces or a kid at work makes something for me I melt all over into a puddle!

Awww that really is sweet! I can see how this would brighten up your day! I feel the same way about every little thing that my Goddaughter makes for me. And these little things and gestures always come at the right time, right when you need it :)

It's as if they can sense the enthusiasm fading isn't it?! So precious bless them.

Aw, that is so cute! I beat all the little boys (and maybe a little girl too) in your class have crushes on you.

Hahah! I hope not.. they're only 7 and 8!

Why not? I had a crush on my teacher when I was 5. I saw her like ten years ago and I can't understand why I ever did (total ugo), but still when I was five she was F.I.N.E.

So that's what I have to look forward to in 10 years time... my kids wont think, " Wow!Miss you were a great teacher!" They will think, "Wow! You're a right state!" hahah!!

I remember reading an article (I can't find it now) that young male students (around the age that you are teaching) learn better in the precedence of an attractive teacher. If I was you I'd be proud. Your students are learning better than kids with less attractive teachers, with little or no effort on your behalf.

Really?! I wonder why that is then. Surely they wont pay any attention then. Well at least it's motivation to make myself look presentable in the morning, then I can slack off a little haha!

Actually, I may be making that up. I don't remember, but as a favor to your students it never hurts to look your best in the morning.
