Friday Favourites

[One] Favourite Show
I am late to the party and just started watching Breaking Bad. I am addicted to the show. In the UK it was not really shown so I am working my way through the DVD's. Currently I have worked my way to Series 4. I am working away and I love it!

Didn't take long too long to work through these.

[Two] Chocolate

This could be on my list every week but I am adding it anyway. It has been keeping me sane this week when I have lost appetite for anything else.

[Three] Friends
I have some great friends who have really been there to support me the past few weeks. They're accepting me for who I am and comforting me when I need it the most.

[Four] Pinterest
As I have some time on my hands, ahem, I have been loving some Pinterest fun!

[Five] Fall colours

I am not the biggest fan of the colder weather approaching but I do love the colours which Fall brings.

Chocolate Pie Recipe

This weekend I have been working a bit more on my blog and made links with the wonderful Neja. So I would like to introduce my new sidebar sponsor to Take All Chances. Talented Neja writes a blog which is jam packed full of amazing recipes. I am so pleased for her to share such a comfort food recipe for us all today - this would have been perfect for my lazy weekend! Good to have you!

My name is Neja, a Slovenian girl behind the blog You CAN have your cake and eat it too. I am a girl, who can turn wearing an apron into something cool. Food is my passion. I love to eat it, talk about it, photograph it! I cry when the recipe doesn't work! I am a passionate rambler, outloud thinker and a seeker of positive, beautiful things. I believe you CAN have your cake & eat it too!

The blog: I explore and try out recipes from other blogs, cooking sites and cooking books. My blog is mainly about food, but that's not all. I have a category named Neja's Milkshake, where I share my thoughts, videos, pics from trips and everything that's beautiful and positive.

Chocolate pie

Ingredients:
Pie crust:
600g of cookies (oreo, any kind)
100 g butter

Filling:
3/4 dl (75 ml) sugar
2 tbsp cornstarch
Pinch of salt
2 large egg yolks
3 1/2 dl (350 ml) milk
100 g dark chocolate (70%), chopped
15 g butter
1 tsp vanilla extract

3 dl (300 ml) heavy whipping cream
Cocoa powder, for dusting or milk chocolate, grated

The process:
Pie crust:
Heat oven to 150°C (300F). Mix cookies to fine crumbs in a food processor or blender. Melt the butter and mix with cookie crumbs until well combined. Place mixture in a pie dish (approx. 20 cm/8 inches) and press onto the bottom and up the sides. Bake for about 10 minutes then let cool.

Filling:
Whisk together sugar, cornstarch and salt in a saucepan. Lightly whisk together yolks and milk in a bowl and then pour into the saucepan. Put pan over moderate heat and stir until mixtures thickens.
Remove from heat and add chocolate, butter and vanilla. Stir until smooth. Let cool, stirring every now and then to prevent a skin from forming. Pour filling into prepared pie crust, whip cream and spoon on top of pie. Dust with some cocoa powder and sprinkle grated milk chocolate on top. Put in fridge, for about 4 hours or overnight.

What I like... gif style!

Here are a few of my favourite things... gif style!!

Chocolate - I have lost count of the number of times I have tried to lessen my intake but I always fail miserably. I crave the stuff.

I do, I do... [Source]

Blogging - I love blogging. I get to share my thoughts and feelings with all you fabulous bloggers. I also love being able to read all your comments and reply. I have made some good friends blogging, it's a supportive community.

I love a good blog event ... [Source]

Trashy TV - I love nothing better than getting wrapped up on the sofa and watching trashy TV shows. Many people will judge TV viewing habits but I just don't care. I love some trashy TV and that's that. Breaking Amish and Honey Boo Boo anyone?

Don't we all Honey Boo Boo? [Source]

Finding things out
- I have quite a thirst for information and knowledge. I like to know things. If I watch a movie, the first thing I do is go onto IMDB and read up on the actors and actresses, the trivia and message boards. If I am told something I will research all there is to know about it.

When you gotta know, you gotta know! [Source]

Working out - I have toyed with many different types of workouts through the years. My favourites would have to be ballet, pole, boxercise and yoga. As you can see I am more of a class kinda girl. The idea of motivating myself in the gym doesn't really do it for me at all. I love to get the endorphins going and I like the challenge of new moves.

Oh to workout like Penny... [Source]

I wanna back my azz up this week to a song which is on my favourite album of the moment - Simple Songs by The Shins (Album - Port of Morrow).

What do you like? Are there any other chocolate loving, trash tv watching, blogging, information craving, fitness fanatic out there?

DIY...

I can't describe how glad I am for it being Friday night!! I hate that I have wished away this week but I have felt so crappy that I just wanted to have Friday night come soon and now it has! Yey! Since I've had a nasty headache hanging around for 4 days... yes 4 days... I planned in a night all to myself!

On the way home I stopped off at shops for Sprite for my Raspberry Vodka (Oh yea!!) and chocolate. I've indulged in a lovely bubble bath and face mask. Now it's time for nails - I may even paint my toenails which I never do unless it's summer. It's a period break on the hockey so I'm settling down for more live hockey (Thank you HDMI cable xoxo), alcohol and chocolate. Completely DIY pamper but oh so needed! I feel like I'm literally carrying all my work on my back but hopefully after a very selfish and indulgent night of doing nothing I will feel better.

My pamper kit...Can't recommend Molton Brown bubble bath enough.
